MPs demand explanation from the RMP

Given the omission of “the case of weapons” in Nampula, the opposition MPs(Renamo and the Democratic Movement of Mozambique) were forced to challenge the attorney general’s office. Butters and José Eduardo Elias, Renamo deputies and MDM, respectively,demanded that Paulino explained in details his position on the case of weapons in Nampula, and his capacity as guardian of legality in the country.  PR congratulates CS for the Press Freedom Day

The President, Armando Guebuza, assured yesterday that the Government will continue to safeguard and encourage media professionals to continue the diversification of their activities towards the consolidation of our self-esteem, culture of peace, national unity and multiparty democracy. Assembly of the Republic: Report of the PRG reflects state of justice -considering the Frelimo

The annual report of the Attorney General’s Office yesterday provided to parliament, reflects the state of justice in the country, the second evaluates the parliamentary majority. According to the Spokesman for the Frelimo benches, Damian Joseph, parliamentary group believes that the Annual Statement of the Attorney General’s Office about the state of justice in the country is realistic and that it reflects a clear and manner in a diagnostic performance of the sector. Target young groups go to war – President Armando Guebuza, in Tete

The President, Armando Guebuza, said Tuesday in Kazula, Tete, one should not think more about the war, because “it a bad sangueine battle and the main target group are young people.” Guebuza was addressing the people of Kazula , an administrative post which was located the main Renamo provincial basis, specifically the town of Matenje, and where according to some citizens complained most there is still ordnance hidden in caves, which was used during the war of 16 years. Readjustment pay to the State Apparatus is 6%

The Council of Ministers, meeting yesterday in the 14th ordinary session, approved the salary adjustment of 6% ??for the State apparatus (civilian ,pensioners ,and tenentes). Armed Forces of the Defence of Mozambique and the Police of the Republic of Mozambique. Therefore, taking into account the percentage approved trials have been conducted that allow for a 6% increase in occupational categories in the salaries of officials and agents of the State. Energy resources: Potential of Mozambique makes a difference in the world

Mozambique has a potential energy resource capable of contributing to meeting the needs of domestic consumption, regional and international second  assurance  yesterday in Maputo by the Minister of Energy, Salvador Namburete, opening aseminar on partnership with Portugal in the field of energy. According to the minister Namburete, the strategic geographical location of our country, as an entry point to the sea to the hinterland countries, is one of the factors that may increase their contribution to the provision of energy resources for the consumer markets, serving  the road infrastructure and iron port allowing quick connections with the States of the Communities for the Development of Southern Africa and East Africa. Company of Canada will give a prospect  line of coal in Tete, Mozambique.

The Company of Canada initiated a drill program in a block concession in the province of Tete, Mozambique, in order to ascertain the existence of commercial quantities of metallurgical coal and / or heat, the company said. However, the (NWT Uranium Corp )said in March still have signed a letter of intent with a South African company, identified only as “sellers”, which holds the exploration license block who had paid the amount of $ 100,000 by right to perform the drill program. Sena line in Mozambique will increase transport capacity

Mozambique will launch in the second half of this year a tender for the upgrade of the Sena line, so that might be able to carry twelve million tonnes per year from the end of this year. According to the Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Gabriel Muthisse, the Sena linecurrently has a capacity to transport up to three million tonnes but the rehabilitation section of the Border / Dondo will increase the transport capacity for 6 million tons. Fighting corruption and organized crime: Attorney asks bold steps

The Attorney General’s Office, Augusto Paulino, asked yesterday for new measures to fight crime in the country, especially organized crime, corruption, human trafficking, misuse of state funds, among others. However, Augusto Paulino said that the actions of prevention and combating of crime presupposes the existence of a legal framework in the face of dynamic changes of organized crime, especially violent one hand and, secondly, the growth of new information technologies and communication , which should lead the countrys’decision of consecration of new solutions in its jurisdiction. “There is no specific law that deals with the kidnapping as a crime”

The Attorney General’s Office, Augusto Paulino, presented a report describing the activities undertaken by the institution which directs as well as a review of criminal cases registered in the last 12 months, with a special focus for embezzlement and crimes against persons. With regard to crimes against persons, with special focus for media cases of abductions, Paulino admitted “impotence” of the state to punish the authors of them, all because there is no specific law criminalizing abductions of people with purpose of ransom or extort money.
