Case of the Social Security: Private proposes the revision of rules

The revision of the organic statute and other legislation governing the operation of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) urgent as it is the best mechanism to curb the antics that happen in the management of public affairs at the institution. Frelimo will invest approximately USD $ 8 million in the 10th Congress – accordance to Filipe Paunde

According to the Secretary-General of Frelimo, Filipe Paúnde, the party will invest about eight million U.S. dollars for the completion of its 10th congress. Part of the value will be used to build infrastructure from scratch, which will be used by the party after the event. However, for this purpose, the Frelimo party intends to create a great platform to ensure logistics and lodging of the delegates and guests at the event. Most vulnerable groups in Mozambique: They are trying to get strategies for social protection

Experts in the field of social protection and foreign nationals are discussing since yesterday in Maputo,  in the international conference, the social inclusion of vulnerable groups in our country. It should be noted that the meeting aims to create an opportunity to discuss various issues that will contribute to greater participation of these groups in political, economic, social and cultural development, recognizing that it is predominant actors in the development of Mozambique. SADC Parliament meets in Maputo

The Maputo City will host next July, the 31th Plenary Assembly of SADC Parliamentary Forum, an event that will include the participation of 150 delegates, representing 14 member countries of the regional organization. The Mozambican University has inspired the Education Reform in Portugal – Veiga Simão

The former University of Lourenço Marques, now Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) “inspired the educational reform in the 1970s in Portugal,” with a strategic program that he intended to focus on “excellence in teaching and research.” According to the first president of EMU, Veiga Simão, the first three years the quality of education that university compared to that of Europe, as “allowed a high quality training. The Government of Mozambique is negotiating with China  for construction of a deepwater port

The government of Mozambique is seeking financing from China to build the deepwater port at Nacala-a-Velha, in Nampula province. According to the Minister of Planning and Development, Cuereneia, is being negotiated with the Development Bank of China a loan of 1,500 million dollars, an amount considered sufficient to build that port, which shall have capacity to process 20 million tons annually . The National Investment Bank lost 109.3 million of Mt

By the end of 2011, the institution was operating in Mozambican market for  seven months (entered the market in June), and held various investments relating to its implementation, which justifies the loss, which is located in 109.3 million Meticais.For this result, according to the document, contributed the cost of setting up the bank amounting to 44 million Meticais , limited activity was conditioned reinforcement of capital to shareholders, which occurred in December 2011 and January 2012. Win a paradise on an island”: Campaign raises Mozambique as a tourist destination

The transformation  of the country as a potential tourist destination internationally is the main aim of the campaign “Win a paradise on an island” officially launched by the Prime Minister, Aires Ali, last night in the capital. However, the initiative promoted by the Ministry of Tourism, through the National Institute of Tourism (INATUR) in partnership with Vision and Vault Marlion Lodge, starts the next day on July 1 and will extend to a period of five months. People who live with HIV, abandon the treatment because of shame in Manica

The Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs of the Gender and Environment (CASGA), in parliament, Telmina Pereira, revealed in Chimoio that , people living with HIV-AIDS in four districts of this province, are leaving the antiretroviral treatment, because the stigmatization experienced by hospitals in the queues waiting to receive the drugs. Hunger and lack of water martyr population of the administrative post of Sena in Caia district

The Residents of the administrative post of Sena in Caia District, Sofala Province, central Mozambique, face shortages of food and water, caused by lack of rain in recent months. Indeed, the sources of water not sufficient for such populations. Some people resort to open-air pits and other creeks, although they know the danger that this alternative poses to public health. Mozambique associated with Mexican drug cartels

According to officials of the Drug Enforcement Administration of the United States (Drug Enforcement Administration – DEA), the Mexican drug cartels are playing an increasing role in illicit drug trafficking in Africa. The DEA says it has documented that Mexican drug cartels refer to criminal groups in Mozambique and other countries. In a report submitted to the U.S. Senate, the DEA officer Jeff Breeden, based in Pretoria, South Africa, it is stated that the police intercepted a ship of chemicals used in the manufacture of illicit drugs destined for a group of Mexican nationals operating from Maputo, Mozambique. Further investigation led to the arrest of three Mexican and one of Nigeria operating from a residence in Mozambique. The Attorney General Confirmed that is researching   NSSI

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has confirmed that is investigating the case of complaints about excessive in the National Social Security Institute (NSSI). Indeed, the deputy attorney general, Maximian Lucia, announced that several cases were investigated and is ongoing around the accounts of the institution. One of the cases under investigation is related to the controversial tender for the production of propaganda material, which would cost the institution, 25 Meticais, while the same material could be produced with a value five times lower,  5 million Meticais.
