The President of AR oversees implementation of the ESP and Budget in Zambezia province

The President of the Assembly of the Republic (AR), Veronica Macamo, is working since yesterday until next July 4, in Zambezia province, as part of the visit of MPs to constituencies to supervise the actions of the Government to comply with the Economic and Social Plan (ESP) and Budget 2012. Also the meetings are scheduled with the population of that province with the aim to disclose the legal instruments adopted at the sixth Session of the Assembly of the Republic, recently completed. Was Launched in Inhambane books to assess the state official

The Minister of Public Victoria Diogo, launched last week in the district of Massinga, in Inhambane province, books of the performance appraisal of employees and agents of the state in their workplaces. In those books, valid for three years, will be recorded and carefully compiled detailed information about the quality of services that each of the servants of the state provides to the public and its commitment to the profession. Less than 6% of women have unpaid employment

The reports from the National Statistics Institute (INE) reflect the harsh reality faced by most women economically active in day-to-day in Mozambique. Indeed, only 5.8% of women with 15 or more years in a position to develop any economic activity have a salaried job. The document, entitled “Women and Men in Mozambique”, in 2008, also reveals that 56.5% work in a regime of self and 37.8% are concerned with work and family without compensation. It should be noted that Mozambique has approximately 12 million economically active persons, of which more than 55% are women. Fuel terminal will be built at the port of Beira

The project of construction of a fuel terminal in the port of Beira should start soon and will take 15 months to finish. The new terminal, whose environmental impact study was presented Thursday in the capital of Sofala province, will have a capacity of 85 cubic meters and will require an investment of $ 50 million. IFLOMA Company will invest in Mozambique 348 million dollars

The Manica Company most known by Forestry Industries will invest 348 million dollars in planting trees and building a paper mill in the provinces of Manica and Sofala in central Mozambique. In 2011 started the process for granting land for the planting of trees and another to obtain a space for the construction of the plant processing wood chips at the port of Beira, Sofala Province. In Manica, Ifloma wants  to plant 73,000 hectares of pine and eucalyptus trees to feed future paper mill that will give the company market leadership role at the Mozambique. Nacala Development will require new dam

The Government of Mozambique is studying the possibility of building a new dam and a season of capture and treat water from the river Lurio. The dam is intended to increase the supply of drinking water to the Nacala Special Economic Zone (NSEZ), which is taking into account the volumes of investment and infrastructure that the region is receiving, particularly in Nacala-Porto and in the neighboring village and headquarters district of Nacala-a-Velha. Mozambique will invest 13 million dollars in  Prosavana projects

The Institute of Agricultural Research of Mozambique will implement over the next five years 307 million Meticais (13 million U.S. dollars) in projects related to Prosavana said Thursday Carolino Martin,  the senior institution. The Prosavana, which covers an area of ??700,000 hectares, is being developed in 12 districts of Nampula, Zambezia and Cabo Delgado in northern and central Mozambique and aims to promote an agriculture enterprise, with strong technology transference. Mozambique needs $ 50 billion USD for the natural gas industry

The Mozambican Minister of Mineral Resources, Esperanca Bias, announced a few days ago that the country needs at least 50 billion dollars to develop the natural gas industry. The announcement was made at an international conference on mining, which is being held in Cape Town in neighboring South Africa Bias explained that the Government has no plans to raise taxes on the mining industry and the companies involved will always be found at case to reverse that decision. The Circumcision reduces risk by 30% of HIV-AIDS

The doctor-surgeon Mehebub Mahomed, has announced the results of research on strategies to prevent HIV-AIDS via male circumcision held in the provinces of Inhambane, Cabo Delgado and Niassa are encouraging. He said “the probability of a circumcised man contracting HIV-AIDS in sexual relations is 60 percent. And the risk of contamination of an uncircumcised man is 90 percent. The Revision of the Penal Code: Equates to aggravation of penalty bands in the country

The Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights and Legality of the Assembly of the Republic (AR) does not put aside the presentation, the plenary session of the legislature, a proposed aggravation of penalty bands in Mozambique, especially the maximum term of imprisonment, currently set at 24 years. This was revealed yesterday by the President of this group of sub specialty of AR, Enesto Cassimuca Lipapa. Who remembered that the Penal Code in force is dating from 1886. More than half ton of drugs were seized in Inhambane province

About 600 kilograms of different drugs were seized from 2011 to March in this year in the province of Inhambane. Cannabis sativa is the most produced and consumed narcotic in Inhambane, with over half a tonne seized by police across the province. Besides cannabis were also seized considerable quantities of hashish, heroin and cocaine. The Director of the Provincial Office for the Prevention and Combating Drugs in Inhambane, Callisto Alberto Tomo, said in the same period 48 people that were arrested of whom eight were convicted on charges of trafficking and illegal consumption of drugs.
