Guebuza conference with ousted president of Guinea Bissau

The president, Armando Guebuza, received last Tuesday in audience the legitimate Head of the State of Guinea-Bissau, Raimundo Pereira, who is in Maputo to represent his country at the Ninth Summit Community of the Portuguese Language Countries, most known by (CPLP), the meeting will start tomorrow. The President of Guinea Bissau  said that there is in  Maputo, the epicenter of the CPLP summit, as the legitimate authority of Guinea-Bissau has, therefore, used the occasion for political contacts. PALOP position themselves on the issues to be debated at the CPLP summit

The African Countries of Portuguese Official Language (PALOP) are adopting today its position on the issues to be discussed at the Ninth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). Thus, the foreign Ministers were meeting yesterday in Maputo, under the leadership of Mozambique, in preparation for this event. Therefore, the governments, meeting in its Sixth Forum PALOP, were to discuss and harmonize their position in relation to the challenges political, diplomatic, social, and economic and, above all, internal security matters to be discussed tomorrow by the heads of state. The president Armando Guebuza greets Madiba

The President of the Republic (PR), Armando Guebuza, welcomed yesterday’s Nelson Mandela, the first black president of South Africa, the passage of his 94th birthday and the celebration for the third time, the International Day of Nelson Mandela, established in November  in 2009 by the UN General Assembly, in recognition of his contribution to the culture of peace and freedom. Therefore, in his message, Guebuza highlighted the achievements of Madiba, mainly because of being a source of inspiration for the South African people and men and women around the world in the fight for their dignity, independence and well-being. Luisa Diogo reacts on behalf of Barclays Bank Mozambique

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barclays Bank Mozambique, Luisa Diogo, reacted yesterday to recent events with Barclays PIC, the parent company of Barclays Bank Mozambique. According to Diogo, aware that the latest developments of the Barclays Group may have caused a slightly positive effect to the image and reputation of the group, but if you want to establish the belief that doing the same to current challenges, Barclays is in perfect condition to overcome them and restore its reputation as a solid and credible institution. Saudi Arabia extends credit of $ 12 million

The Saudi Fund for Development (SDF) will disburse in the form of credit, 12 million U.S. dollars to finance the construction works of four schools in two Northern provinces of Mozambique. To this end, the Mozambican government, through the Council of Ministers, ratified on Tuesday in Maputo, the agreement signed with Saudi financial institution that at the beginning of this month, aimed at “enabling the release of that amount this year. Ex-Im Bank of China lends more money to Mozambique to build Maputo  / Catembe bridge

The Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im) of China has granted a commercial loan of 681.6 million dollars to Mozambique ensured that therefore the funds needed to build the bridge Maputo / Catembe, linking the two shores of the Bay of Maputo. Mozambique gets 12.8% of sales value with the “Cove”

The Mozambican government will fit 12.8% of the added value generated by selling the company’s Cove Energy, which owns 8.5% of a grant of natural gas in the Rovuma, in Cabo Delgado. Therefore, the President of Mozambique Tax Authority, Rosario Fernandes, assured yesterday in Maputo that together with the Ministry of Mineral Resources, was driven to the tax legislation concerning the taxation of capital gains. The First Gas Power Station was opened yesterday in Maputo

Mozambique has, since yesterday, with the first development of electricity generation from natural gas produced in Temane and Pande, in Inhambane province. It was inaugurated by the Head of State, Armando Guebuza, in the administrative post of Ressano Garcia, Moamba district, Maputo province. Therefore, the project is valued at about $ 80 million, the result of a joint venture between the British multinational Agrekko, the South African Shanduka, owned by Cyril Ramaphosa, one of the most significant politicians of that neighboring country. The Inauguration of Anti-retroviral factory again delayed

The opening of a factory anti-retroviral drugs under construction in Maputo, originally scheduled for Saturday, was again postponed yesterday,  it was announced  by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique (MINEC). According to MINEC on Saturday, the Vice President of Brazil, Michel Temer, visits the factory premises and participates “in the launching ceremony of the beginning phase of the operation.” The inauguration will take place only after “completed all the steps related to the timing of activity of the plant to full operation,” he added. Gynecologists learn new surgical techniques

To fill a gap in surgical techniques in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, physicians in several hospitals are participating since yesterday in Maputo on a course of Gynecologic Laparoscopy and Urinary Incontinence. Co-organized by the Private Hospital of Maputo and Johnson and Johnson, in the two-day course with theoretical and practical component arises from the need to improve the techniques of minimally evasive surgery. In various operations possible by this new technical, are given the removal of the uterus, ovarian cysts, tubal ligation and treatment of infertility. The PRM is hunting prisoners in  Mieze Chain

The Police of the Republic of Mozambique, in Cabo Delgado, unleashed a genuine “game” to man in order to recapture all inmates who escaped Tuesday chain in the  Mieze chain in  that province. Celiano Henriques, the head of public relations in the PRM Provincial Command, said the the corporation spread the alert in all districts of the province, not only to neutralize the fugitives. Are 71 inmates who were incarcerated in the detention center in Mieze, in the administrative post of the same name, district-Metuge Pemba, about 20 kilometers from the city of Pemba, who fled in the afternoon of last Tuesday.
